Laser Safety glasses for experienced arc welders

As arcwelders have the habit to look continious into the melting pool, they need less light transparant glasses

One of the challenges a skilled welder faces when switching to laser welding is eye protection. A welder is accustomed to seeing their weld pool and monitoring it closely to achieve a good weld. Therefore, most welders wear automatic self-darkening welding shields or goggles because they continuously follow this highly visible weld pool with their eyes. Without proper eye protection, this is not possible. Following the weld pool results in automatic behavior of which they are no longer consciously aware; they simply follow the weld pool automatically with their eyes.

When switching to laser welding, the weld pool no longer needs to be followed with the eyes; rather, the position of the hand must be controlled. Because an experienced welder functions almost on autopilot, they will continue looking into the weld pool during laser welding without being consciously aware of it. This has consequences for the eyes, as working with non-automatically darkening goggles or welding shields is normally not necessary when laser welding. Someone who has never welded before and learns laser welding through proper training will never have this problem, as they lack the automatic reflex of following the molten pool with their eyes. Consequently, they do not get the light directly into their eyes.

For experienced welders with this problem, we therefore offer a range of glasses with "darker" lenses and greater protection to counteract this phenomenon. With this type of glasses specifically designed for experienced arc welders, we largely solve this problem. Those who have never welded before work better with our standard glasses; on the other hand, "habitual welders" would be better off choosing the darker version! These dim not only ordinary light but also significantly the invisible laser light and the invisible, harmful UV light.
